Samurai code tips
I’ve been a System Analyst in EPSON for about 1 and a half year. Through the period i had developed a number of projects, wrote in VB and PHP language. Eventhough came from Computer Science field in university, i admit that all the programming skills and tips are obtained from self learning and reading. So, the self learning process may caused me own programming skills that maybe not proper or not organized. I am not an expert developer, but my method is i will use any method or way to get the output done. Sometimes i also didn’t full understand what the hack the code is, but if the output is displayed then i will satisfy.
Having a programming skill is really a bonus to a blogger, especially in web programming language such as ASP and PHP. Why? Blog application like wordpress is an open source software, so if you have skills in PHP which is the language that the Wordpress is wrote from, you can tweak and change the Wordpress to be a new Wordpress, which can be your income stream source. Why? Your new Wordpress can be sold! Sell it at Ebay or any affiliate websites such as PayDotCom or Linkshare and you can earn money. Example is Wordpress Elite. But to be a well organized and structured programmer, we need to know the proper steps and Wil Shipley from “Call Me Fishmeal” wrote free programming tips that i really agree and found it very true and beneficial. He named it The Way of the Code Samurai
What are the tips?
First of all, why the word Samurai is metioned? Read what Wil said:
Now, I don’t actually know much about real samurai, but the basic thing I’ve heard is they stand and stare at each other for hours, and then suddenly BAM strike once and the other guy is down.
That’s how you should code.
I summarize the tips:
-Think some more. Think about the whole problem
-Write all your code “clean,” the first time you write it
-Less source code is better
-The time and place are AFTER YOU ARE DONE
I fyou dont understand read the details at Wil’s blog HERE.
