Shame on me.. 1
Last night was really a shameful night for me. Due to my lack of knowledge in blogging, i tested my template with “not ready” contents in it, and the site was online. I thought i will have no comments from the outside world, but contents and crediting author is not a small matter. These 2 things must be emphasized for any newcomer or new blogger to start your journey. Believe it or not, one silly mistake from you can make you infamous in just a minute or two. You may no one before but your name can be in blogHerald or Problogger if you dont take this issue seriously. Then what happen to you??Your blog can be a resource for people blaming your non-ethics action and you can be labelled as a content theft. Sound sad if you think you didn’t do it on purpose but hey, this is life. Ignoring a fact doesn’t change a fact, so when a content from outside is available in your blog without proper credit to the author, just wait the grey cloud above you in just one night. I believe thing happens for a reason. In my incident, i may be labelled as a theft last night (luckily i quickly realized i have comments in my blog last night), but on the bright side i can make this as a lesson for me and also a blogger wannabe out there. Newcomers should read this post so they can know the hazard of put unproper credit method in a blog.
As a result, i made a public apology at my main page last night, and i delete all the post so that i can include them after i complete and confirm i already credit all the authors in proper way. This is the public apology:
“I’m very sorry….i’m just testing the template… Now i already credited the writers, i thought just put link to the original author site is enough and not against the law.. Now i have removed all the contents that not being credited with the proper way. Thanks to darren from problogger for knocking my head, make me realize the faults. For the time being, i will remove all the entry and check if i had credited the correct person. Its quite shameful if the site is still online when i am editing it. Sorry all bloggers…its not the intention, only the wrong method which i think its OK. And for Malaysians, very sorry if this thing cause bad name to all the citizens, i ask for your forgiveness for this silly mistake. Next time, i will credited following the correct way and not only the SOURCE link. For all the international bloggers, thanks for yelling and scolding..i will take that as a positive advice. I thought testing the template, also Wordpress with temporary contents may not reach the international but its a shameful blow for me. To all, thanks again. To all the authors especially cred8-design, thanks for telling the correct way to credit author. Hope dont blame all Malaysians, LiewCf is example of our problogger…Thanks. Please email me at apex@bloggertips.com if you have any response of this public statement.â€Â
For your info, this statement also available in Problogger comments page. See how serious is it? So dont play fool about crediting author in your blog. A writing is sharper than a sword. Bear in mind. Please read my post about the proper way to credit author.
Sphere It

It was a great effort to build a blog with all the resources compiled. And the lesson that should be learnt from this experience is not only all bloggers should remember to credit their sources but also all bloggers who plan to take on blogging seriously with such topics, please do your research and prepare yourself properly.
This goes to show anyone who thinks being a problogger is easy, small mistakes like this would cost you the reputation boost you would have gotten.
I’ll blog about this later on. Cheers.
