Politician, singers, actors, teenagers, hair stylists…you name it, more people blogging nowadays. Let say we ask from 10 who blogging, ask them “What is blog?”. I dont think all of the ten know the exact answer. Me too. At the first place the blogging interest came to me, wtf is blog? I dont give a damn what it means. Do you want to know what cross my mind when i ask myself the “What is blog?” question.

What cross my mind are a site with simple interface, with Archive links in it, date posted, diary look alike, links to closest friends blog, links to what you like to read, gallery for people see your photos and comments from the readers. Besides these, words that also crossed my mind are Wordpress,MovableType,TypePad,Blogspot and Blogger. That what blog means to me. Read it carefully, actually its not define what blog is.

So what is blog?
Technically, blogs are just like any other website on the net. Combine the the word web and log = weblog. Why use log? This is because all the entries are recorded with the date and time, just like log system. From the word weblog, it shorten to blog. Thats how blog term came out. Blogs exist online not just for your online diary, journal but also for advertising and profit making purpose (actually its not OK using the term online diary or journal because diary meant to be secret and confidential, not to be read by anyone but yourself). But i digged a few meaning of blog from a few source from the net.

In essence, a blog is an online journal. It’s a place to collect, organise and share your thoughts, opinions, news, resources and useful links. Blogs often grow dedicated audiences who appreciate the content provided

A weblog (now more commonly known as a blog) is a web-based publication consisting primarily of periodic articles (normally in reverse chronological order). Although most early weblogs were manually updated, tools to automate the maintenance of such sites made them accessible to a much larger population, and the use of some sort of browser-based software is now a typical aspect of “blogging”.

Well I have finally learned what a “blog” is/was. This has helped me temendously, simply because I always thought that a blog was a “website”!

And here I find that to be true. I also want to discuss how do you link/exchange with a affiliate site? Generally you cannot manipulate their sites. What is the best way to promote an affiliate site?

Most people such as myself, have no interest in doing html…yet - I know there are other ways of accomplishing this.
